This is a good item and does the job that I expected. I put a UV filter on my lens and never take it off and just add other filters onto it and they fit well. However, it has two issues. First, it can not eliminate all the glare no matter how i rotate it.Second, it does not fit my UV filter well. But this polarizer does not so I need to take off my UV filter, put on the polarizer, and put my UV filter outside. I'm not sure this happens to me only.
probably u get what u pay for i guess. my ring was shaking/rattling. Very poor build quality. apart from that the biggest problem was the treads are too tight and rough. and its extremely prone to attracting dust. gives u decent amount of contrast. was a pain putting it on and getting it off my lens.but as i said its really really affordable and give u fair amount of contrast in ur pics. just wish build quality was a bit better.
Some reviewers say this lense is great and you can leave it on at all times to protect your camera lens, etc. That is what I find annoying about this actually. Bought this for the Panasonic Lumix FZ35. I am just beginning to take pictures, so I don't know much, but I also read where someone complained that the lens was "loose" and continued to turn freely after being screwed on. I just didn't realize I would have to be constantly turning the lens on an auto focus camera when I bought this. I did not find this to be true because it causes discoloration in your indoor photos. There is a union that allows the inside half to be screwed in tightly to the camera and the outside half to rotate freely.
It appears to slightly change colors not just light levels. Fits perfect like it should. Depending on how you rotate that lens before snapping a picture determines how great your photograph looks. I guess if you are always in sunlight you would be fine, but don't think you can leave it on indoors or you will be dissapointed in your pictures. It is supposed to do that. Since I am a novice, it is very possible someone will comment and say "it is supposed to do that." Which is fine, I accept that. I thought it would be a "point and shoot" solution for my advanced "point and shoot" camera.
Photographers at any level know what a CPL filter is and what it does. I'm a fan of the Tiffen brand and have nothing but praise for their products. I know opinions vary but I am entitled to mine. I never hesitate to recommend Tiffen and I don't believe you can go wrong here.
There is not much you can say about a polarizing filer unless you have a problem with it. I have not detected any distortion or aberration due to using the filter, and it rotates quite easily. It works for me.
